The name chosen for the brand, Romeo y Julieta, is a tribute to the famous literary tragedy, written by William Shakespeare, which was one of the most demanded by the Cuban factory rollers from their readers.
The Romeo y Julieta Mille Fleurs have cigar factory format Petit Coronas, It is a 42 ring gauge x 129mm long, all with a soft to medium strength, it is characterized by a brown with a certain silkiness, but with some marked veins wrapper, manufactured totally by hand.
The Romeo y Julieta Mille Fleurs has a very characteristic flavor, very woody tobacco, somewhat earthy, with spicy tips and a slightly sweet background. This was my second order from Montefortuna as I previously bought 25 of the Partagas Mille Fleurs and wanted the RYJ to compare to.
Delivery to the UK was 4 weeks and quicker than my previous order which took 6 weeks due to customs doing their thing.
Custom charges along with post office handling was £49 and a lot cheaper than the 25 Partagas Mille Fleurs which was only £8 more than the RYJ’s the custom/post office charge’s for that order was £110.
Comparing the two custom declarations that were on the packages it seems you get charged lesser fees if the value is declared in USD as apposed to CHF, so thanks Monte for saving me a lot of cash.
The package arrived in perfect order and the was well bubble wrapped inside along with the usual Boveda pouch strapped to the cigar box.
I opted for box inspection and the cigars were in perfect condition and construction with a lovely uniform colour and divine smell just how I like them to be.
I will be laying these down for a good while as the box date is 2021 and I like a good 3 years on my smokes but I’m in no rush.
